Climbing up the ladder
Kara joined the company in 2021 as a Customer Service Representative, quickly proving herself as someone who thrives on problem-solving and delivering exceptional service. A firm believer of investing in relationships and collaboration, Kara has grown both professionally and strategically since joining the team.
Within just nine months, her strong performance earned her a promotion to Operations Coordinator, a role that offered her deeper insight into how the company’s moving parts come together to serve customers efficiently. In January 2025, she stepped into her current role as National Buyer, where she continues to combine her passion for supplier collaboration with a results-driven mindset.
“When I first started, my focus was primarily on achieving good deals and building a relationship with the vendors,” Kara said. “Today, I’ve grown as a leader and collaborator working closely with crossing teams and fellow buyers to drive collective success.”
Facing challenges and finding solutions
Like many in the fast-paced world of parts and fulfillment, Kara and her team navigate the daily challenge of managing high volumes of requests. With a process in place, they can fulfill these demands with ease. “We’ve built a system centered on prioritization and collaboration,” Kara explained. “Regular monitoring and feedback loops help us stay agile and improve our efficiency over time.”
As OHD Parts continues to grow, data-driven insights play a key role in optimizing operations. “When inventory is accurate, updates happen automatically and that kind of innovation and consistency across the company has truly transformed how OHD Parts operates,” she added.
As these systems streamline operations, they also pave the way for a more proactive, customer-centered approach to service. For Kara, the most rewarding moments come when her team delivers proactive customer service. “It’s especially rewarding when customer service reaches out to a customer before they even realize there is a problem,” she said. In addition to strengthening customer trust, that kind of foresight reinforces OHD Parts’ reputation for reliability and care.
